- Stoney Creek enhancement 
- Stickleback Creek enhancement 
- Started work on a Strategic Sustainability Plan (Education Trustees) 
- First District to hire a District Vice Principal of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (Education Trustees) 
- One of the first school districts in BC to adopt a Sexual Orientation Gender Identity (SOGI) policy (Education Trustees) 
- Creation of over 700 before-and-after-school child care spaces

- Affordable Housing and Homelessness – A Response to Issues and Proposals

- Lion’s Mulberry Place non-market housing project

- Creation of technology hub west of BCIT

- First Official Community Plan 
- Groundwork to revitalize Edmonds as a Town Centre 
- Fair Wages Policy 
1970-1980
- Established Burnaby Mountain conservation area 
- Construction of senior’s housing in Edmonds 
- Expanded New Vista as a full-service senior’s care home, Burnaby’s first dedicated care home 
- Land acquisition in Cariboo Road area to support housing under the National Housing Act 
- Forest Grove Community Plan released 
- Introduction of Community Schools (Education Trustees) 
1960-1970
- First BCA majority Council 
- Stopped rezoning for high-rises until a sociological and economic study has been concluded 
- Made community consultation part of the municipal planning process 
- Implemented long term planning goals including town centres as well as parks and recreation facilities for a growing population 
- Groundwork for Shadbolt Centre for the Arts and Burnaby Art Gallery 
- Facilitated construction of SFU and BCIT 
- Advocacy for a regional growth strategy

- Advocated for long range municipal planning 
- Advocated for more careful controls in the sale of municipal lands
