Hillary Bergshoeff

Hillary Bergshoeff is an active community and labour activist, who believes a fully funded public education system is a critical pillar in the foundation of a healthy society.

Through her professional role at IATSE 891 - the largest motion picture union local in North America - Hillary has honed her professional skills in advocacy, research, representation, and lobbying all levels of government; working on projects that affect real change in the lives of British Columbians, and she is eager to use those skills to help Burnaby students in the role of School Board Trustee.

Hillary has a proven record in governance and building productive working relationships across industries and communities; co-chairing the Education and Training Committee at Screen BC, supporting the work of the Standing Committee on Artificial Intelligence and New Technology at the BC Federation of Labour, representing Burnaby residents on the Parks, Recreation, and Culture Committee at the City of Burnaby, and Chairing the United Steelworkers Local 2009 Human Rights Committee.

If elected to the School Board, Hillary will continue to fight for the rights of Burnaby students and families, to ensure that quality education remains universally available, inclusive, sustainable, and providing equitable opportunities for all students, while cultivating a lifelong love of learning.
