Paul Kwon
Paul Kwon is a Burnaby parent, public education advocate, and community volunteer. He currently serves as Chair of the Burnaby District Parent Advisory Council, representing PACs and families across Burnaby public schools. At Kitchener Elementary, Paul is active as PAC Vice-President, DPAC representative, and a volunteer basketball and volleyball coach.
Through his work in schools, Paul has seen how decisions about funding, staffing, facilities, and inclusion affect students, families, educators, and support staff every day. He believes school trustees have a responsibility to listen carefully, ask practical questions, and keep decisions connected to the people they affect.
Paul works in finance and operations at UBC, serves as a Senator on SFU Senate, and has served in community governance roles with the Burnaby Community Heritage Commission, Burnaby Family Life, the Royal Canadian Legion (UBC), and the UBC Staff Pension Plan.
Paul is committed to strong public schools, transparent decision-making, inclusive learning environments, and making sure resources keep pace with the real needs of Burnaby families.
