Rea Park 박리아 immigrated to Canada and has lived in Burnaby ever since. She has built her career in insurance, risk management, mediation, and public service, supporting individuals and families through complex claims, conflict resolution, and community advocacy. She has worked closely with people facing unexpected challenges, helping them navigate difficult situations and identify practical solutions. As a Burnaby Constituency Advisor, she also works directly with residents to navigate government services, resolve local concerns, and connect people with the resources they need.
Rea holds a Diploma in Business Administration and Human Resources, the Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation, and has completed the UBC Mini MBA program. She is currently pursuing the Harvard University Leadership Certificate Program while working toward the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
As the Founder and President of CANAREA, Rea established the non-profit organization after recognizing the challenges many members of the next generation face in finding mentorship, leadership opportunities, and meaningful ways to engage with their communities. Drawing from her own experience as an immigrant, she created CANAREA to help young people build confidence, develop leadership skills, and take an active role in community life. Today, CANAREA partners with schools, government offices, non-profit organizations, multicultural organizations, and community leaders across British Columbia to deliver youth leadership programs, volunteer initiatives, cultural events, mentorship opportunities, and community projects that strengthen connections across generations and cultures.
Fluent in Korean and English, with conversational Japanese, Rea works with people from diverse cultural backgrounds through both her professional career and community involvement. She regularly volunteers at community events, mentors youth, supports seniors, and collaborates with local organizations to strengthen neighbourhood connections and encourage greater civic participation.
Her experience in public service, community leadership, and grassroots engagement has shaped a practical approach focused on listening first and delivering results.
Rea is running for Burnaby City Council to help build a city where young people have greater opportunities to lead and succeed, seniors receive the support they deserve, neighbourhoods remain safe and connected, and every resident has the opportunity to shape Burnaby's future.
